Math is an acquired taste and freshman Jensen Baade is already ahead of the game by taking AP Calculus AB- a class full of mostly seniors.
“When I was younger, I started math at an early age. I was homeschooled through 7th grade, which was great, because I was able to learn at a faster pace. I had to learn Pre-Calculus independently last year, and the placement test put me into Calc AB,” Baade said.
In terms of the next four years Baade will continue to challenge himself. He plans to take Calc BC for his sophomore year, Calc III junior year and either AP Statistics or Linear Algebra his senior year.
For now, Baade enjoys sitting in Calc AB. “My favorite part about calculus, is my awesome teacher, Mr. Wood. Sometimes when a unit is really tough, or it’s been a long week, he just fills my day with humor and makes me laugh really hard,” Baade said.
