The world’s oldest person, Misao Okawa, died Wednesday.
The Japanese woman turned 117 on March 4, and has said that 117 years goes by quickly.
According to Tomohiro Okada, an official at her Osaka nursing home, she died of heart failure and stopped breathing, according to the AP.
“She went so peacefully, as if she had just fallen asleep,” Okada told the AP. “We miss her a lot.”
Okawa was born on March 5, 1898, in Osaka and was recognized as the oldest person in the world by Guiness World Records in 2013.
