Due to the closure of various social media accounts linked to the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham, also known as ISIS, the terrorist group posted an online threat Sunday that targets a Twitter co-founder, Jack Dorsey.
Twitter has routinely shut down ISIS accounts, specifically if the accounts threaten or link to beheadings and other atrocities.
The threat, posted in Arabic, was first reported by Buzzfeed.
“From the beginning of this failed war, we’ve said that this is not your war,” the ISIS post says. “But you did not understand and kept closing our accounts on Twitter, but we always come back.
“But when our lions come and take your breath, you will never come back to life.”
Twitter issued a statement saying that its “security team is investigating the veracity of these threats with relevant law enforcement officials.”
