2015 proved to be the year movies made a huge impact to the entertainment industry. Movies ranging from Star Wars: The Force Awakens to little kids movies like Inside Out, are going to be hard to top in the year 2016. Looking to the near future, here are the top 10 must see movies in 2016:

  1. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story– It will be the first film in the Star Wars Anthology series, a collection of stand-alone series set in the Star Wars Universe. Set shortly before the events of Star Wars (1977), the story centers around a group of rebel spies on a mission to steal the plans for the Empire’s new weapon, the Death Star.
  2. Finding Dory– With help from Nemo and  Marlin (Albert Brooks), Dory (Ellen DeGeneres) embarks on a quest to reunite with her mom (Diane Keaton) and dad (Eugene Levy).
  3. Captain America:Civil War– A feud between Captain America(Chris Evans) and Iron Man(Robert Downey Jr.) leaves the Avengers in an upheaval
  4. The 5th Wave– The human race stands on the brink of extinction as a series of alien attacks destroy the planet causing earthquakes, tsunamis, and disease. Separated from her family, teenager Cassie Sullivan (Chloë Grace Moretz),will do whatever it takes to reunite with her brother Sam (Zackary Arthur). Fate leads her to form an alliance with Evan Walker (Alex Roe), a young man who may be her last hope. Forced to trust each other, Cassie and Evan fight for survival as the invaders prepare a fifth assault.
  5. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice– Mankind faces a new threat as Batman (Ben Affleck) embarks on a personal vendetta against Superman (Henry Cavill).With Batman and Superman fighting each other, a new threat Doomsday is created by Lex Luthor. It’s up to Superman and Batman to set aside their differences along with Wonder Woman(Gal Gadot) to stop Lex Luthor and Doomsday from destroying Metropolis.
  6. Deadpool– Gifted with accelerated healing powers, mercenary Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) adopts the alter ego Deadpool and hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.
  7. Ghost busters-Four women (Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon) battle troublemaking supernatural creatures.
  8. Divergent Series: Allegiant– Tris (Shailene Woodley) must escape with Four(Theo James)and go beyond the wall enclosing Chicago to find a peaceful solution for their embroiled city. Once outside, old discoveries are quickly rendered meaningless with the revelation of shocking new truths. Tris and Four must quickly decide who they can trust as a ruthless battle ignites beyond the walls of Chicago which threatens all of humanity. 
  9. Kung Fu Panda 3–  Po (Jack Black) realizes that he has a lot to learn if he’s going to fulfill the next challenge. After reuniting with his long-lost father (Bryan Cranston), Po must transition from student to teacher and train a group of fun-loving, clumsy pandas to become martial-arts fighters. Together, the kung-fu brethren unite to take on the evil Kai (J.K. Simmons), a supernatural warrior who becomes stronger with each battle.
  10. Zoolander 2– Models Derek Zoolander (Ben Stiller) and Hansel (Owen Wilson) must stop a conspiracy to kill the world’s most beautiful people.
