On Thursday, Oct. 6, band and orchestra had their first concert of the year, playing a total of 19 songs for the theme, “Things That Go Bump in the Night”.
Students from Jazz Ensemble, String Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra, Percussion Ensemble, Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble have been practicing since the beginning of the year, both during and after school, in preparation for this performance.
“My favorite song was probably VooDoo because it was the most challenging, but in the end it was worth the hard work that we put in,” sophomore Jensen Rogers said.
Rogers has been playing in both Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble as a percussionist since his freshman year, and has enjoyed it ever since he started.
“What I like about band is that it’s a way you can express yourself,” Rogers said.
The next performance will be the Fall Jazz Concert on Nov. 2 at 7 p.m.
