There is no business like show business. As the year wraps up, the final school production has arrived. Goldust opens tonight, Thursday, May 5 at 7:00 p.m. This year, Goldust has a special meaning for senior Lauren Lamb.
“This will be my fourth year in Goldust,” Lamb said.
Goldust is a concert put on by the various choir clubs and classes in the school. Preparation begins over Spring Break. The choirs sing and dance to different numbers related to the theme of the show. This year the theme is Broadway.
“Everything is from a movie or Broadway musical,” Lamb said. “I’m looking forward to the whole show because I’m MCing, which is something I have wanted to do since I would come and watch the show when my dad was a teacher at Vista.”
Each year, it is a tradition in Goldust to have a senior slideshow. The slideshow recognizes the seniors in the program while they sing solos in front of their baby and senior pictures.
“I have always loved the senior slideshow and song. It’s what I have been looking forward to since I was a freshman,” Lamb said.
There will be a show at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday night. Tickets are five dollars for students and ten dollars for adults.
