On Thursday, May 3, four students stepped forwarded into the gym assembly, microphone in hand, and gave their campaign speeches. They did so to try and convince their peers to vote for them as the 2018-2019 student body president.
The running candidates were Charles Schley, Anna Scott, Heather Orr and Maya Winslow, 11. All of them gave speeches highlighting the importance of kindness and creating a better Mountain Vista community.
After they finished their speeches, the students in the stand voted through their phones on who they believe should be next year’s student body president. The candidate with the highest votes is to be announced at the end of the school day.
