There have been some amazing players that have played in the MLB (Major League Baseball) over the years. Many have come through and played, but few have played and left behind a legacy. Here are the Top 10 Best Baseball Players of All Time.
#10. Honus Wagner, Shortstop for the Pirates
Wagner has left a mark in history as one of the best shortstops to ever play. During his career from 1897-1917, he became the best shortstop in the league. During his career, Wagner became the Batting Champion eight times. Wagner and his .328 batting average helped take his team to the World Series.
#9. Mickey Mantle, Center Field for the Yankees
Mantle was famous for his ability to hit home runs from both sides of the plate. He also was known for his ability to run like the wind in his earlier playing years. Mantle’s career went from 1951-1968. Mantle won three MVP awards and could have won more, but his career ended when his knees gave out.
#8. Stan Musial, First Base and Outfield for the Cardinals
Musial he left behind a legacy for batting. He led the league seven times with the best batting average. He hit a total of 475 home runs and scored almost just as much when he didn’t hit a homerun. He was the MVP three times and went to 20 different All-Star games.
#7. Roger Clemens, Right Handed Pitcher for the Red Sox, Blue Jays, Yankees, and Astros
Over a span of 23 years, Clemens was able to go down in history. He helped his team get the the World Series time and time again. Clemens finally got a ring in Game Seven of the 2001 World Series, which was something he wanted for a long time. He had a total of 354 wins in his career before he retired in 2007.
#6. Ty Cobb, Center Field for the Tigers and Athletics
From 1905-1928, Cobb won 11 batting titles and ended his career with a .366 batting average. In his career, Cobb stole a total of 897 bases. Although Cobb was not a very nice or respectful player, he had more Hall of Fame votes than Babe Ruth.
#5. Hank Aaron, Right Field for the Braves and Brewers
Aaron had to deal with the ghost of the Babe Ruth through his career. Aaron had the most RBI’s (runs batted in) than any other player’s career. He had a total of 2,297 RBIs in his career from 1954-76. Although Aaron had to hid behind Baby Ruth, he still was able to make a name for himself.
#4. Ted Williams, Left Field for the Red Soxs
Williams won six batting titles in his career. He also led his league 12 times in OBP and nine times in slugging percentage. At the age of 41, he had a batting average of .316 and slugged and .645. Williams left behind a legacy in his 21 year career.
#3. Barry Bonds, Left Field for the Pirates and Giants
In 2004, Bonds reached bases 376 times, walked 232 and intentionally walked 120 times. He was a star on and off the field and left behind a record to beat.
#2. Willie Mays, Center Field for the Giants and Mets
Mays had 660 home runs, 3,283 hits, 1,903 RBIs, 338 stolen bases, 12 Golden Gloves and he made every All-Star team from 1954-1973. Mays was known for power, speed, and defense. He was the second best player in the league.

During Ruth’s career, he held the record for the most homeruns at 714. He had a batting average of .342. He had the best career OPS 1.164 and the second most RBIs of all time, with 2,213. Ruth stole 123 bases in his career. Ruth is also a member of first Hall of Fame class in 1936. It is no doubt that Babe Ruth has been the best player to ever play in the MLB.
