The Mountain Vista Men’s ice hockey team had a strong weekend, recording two wins. Vista was solid, not only offensively, but also defensively. The team scored 14 goals in the 2 games and only allowed 3 goals against.
The first win came on Friday against Liberty. Senior Tanner Gillis scored three goals for Vista in their 7-3 victory.
Vista continued their momentum into Saturday beating Valor 7-0. They beat Pine Creek 4-1 on Tuesday and are now 6-1.
The three victories moved Vista up 3 spots in the state standings to 5th place. Vista is also currently tied for first with Lewis Palmer in the Peak conference.
The team will look to continue their winning streak Thursday against Doherty.
