My name is Austin Sack and I have been a part of the Mountain Vista Media program for two years now, one year as a staff member and one as an editor.
I joined the media program sophomore year because I had always liked english in school and had an interest in writing. I took Mark Newton’s Intro to Journalism class and I was hooked and by the next year I was a staff member. Journalism is my passion and I plan on pursuing a career in journalism as a newscaster.
I have lived in Highlands Ranch practically my whole life until about six months ago, My family and I moved out to Larkspur, Colorado. I am currently open enrolling at Mountain Vista. I get the same question a lot about “why do you drive 45 minutes to come to school,” and one of the main reasons why is because of our media program. I love being at Vista and would never leave.
This is my third year on the ultimate frisbee team, first year on the rock climbing team and I also run track. In track I high jump, long jump and run the 200. If I had to pick my favorite sport I would pick ultimate because my brother got me hooked on playing the sport while he was in college.
My brother (Aj) is more to me than just a brother, he is my bestfriend. Aj is a senior at UNC in Greeley and although I don’t get to see him as much as I want to we still remain close and have fun every time we get to see each other.
In my free time, I enjoy hanging out with my family and friends. I absolutely love being outside and hanging out with my two dogs Izzy and Jessie. I like to camp, fish, ski, go boating and race RC cars.
If you ever want to get in contact with me with any question, comments or concerns you can email me at [email protected].
