At 10 p.m. on Monday, a loud bang was heard in Carlyle Park Circle. As residents in the area went outside to investigate, a white Ford Mustang GT was found with a large hole in the windshield and a man in black clothing running from the scene.
The police were called soon after. A perimeter was established, but no suspects could be found.
Police officers investigated the scene, but there was little evidence to recover.
“We’re going to talk to the person who owns the car,” Deputy Michael Morris said. “We’ll find out if this is a random act or if the owner might know who did it.”
The incident unsettled many of the surrounding residents, including Grace Viola, 11.
“It was alarming. We think of Highlands Ranch as this perfect, sheltered place but it’s not perfect,” Viola said.
