Youngest Nobel Prize Winner to Speak in Denver

Malala Yousafzai, the youngest recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize, will speak in Denver atMalala_Yousafzai_at_Girl_Summit_2014 the Bellco Theater on June 24 for the Unique Lives & Experiences lectures. The series is designed to “motivate, challenge and enlighten” attendees with inspirational speakers.

Malala became known in 2012 when the Taliban shot her in the head on a school bus in Pakistan. She was targeted for criticizing the group’s interpretation of Islam, which limits girls’ access to education.

She was airlifted to Britain from Pakistan to reconstruct her skull and restore her hearing.

She published a book entitled “I Am Malala,” co-written with British journalist Christina Lamb, in 2013.

At 17, Malala became the youngest-ever Nobel Prize laureate when she was in the co-recipient for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2014.

Her Denver appearance includes an opportunity for a meet and greet.
