The Mountain Vista High School symphony orchestra, wind ensemble, symphonic band, chamber orchestra and string orchestra will perform their annual winter concert this Thursday, Dec. 11.
“I’m really hyped for the winter concert,” junior violinist Tony Swope said. “We are going to play so many amazing songs and it’s all coming together really well!”
One of the pieces the orchestra plans to play is “Christmas Eve (Sarajevo).” The orchestra and band will compile to play “Christmas Festival” and “Stille Nacht (Silent Night).” Chamber will also play pieces including “Christmas Concerto” and “The Menorah (Hanukkah Tribute).”
“We are all very excited for the upcoming concert,” junior violinist Morgan O’Connor said. “We have a plethora of holiday music that we have put a lot of time and effort into perfecting and we can’t wait to share it with friends and family this holiday season!”
The concert begins at 6:30 p.m. and admission is free for all guests. String Orchestra will kick off the night, followed by Chamber Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra and Symphonic Band. The band typically begins playing around 8:00 p.m. The night will then close with Wind Ensemble.
