Highlands Ranch is hosting a race around Douglas County and Denver which will mimic the popular TV show, The Amazing Race. Twenty teams of two will be selected from different high schools in Highlands Ranch to participate. It will take place starting on May 3 at 6:00 p.m. and end exactly 24 hours later. There will be four legs to the race, with five teams being eliminated from each leg. The first team to cross the finish line will win the grand prize, which is worth over $500.
To enter, each team must fill out a single application, which not only asks for basic information, but also a photo, administrator signatures, parent signatures, and driving information. Each team member must also answer a short questionnaire about themselves to help decide who participates in the race.
You can pick up an application in the main office. Applications are due April 25 at 3:00 p.m. Teams will be notified if they have been selected to participate on April 27 by email or phone. Accepted applicants must pay a $30 race fee for each partner.
