The Mock Trial Districts Competition spanned over the past Friday and Saturday on Feb. 10 and 11 at the Douglas County Justice Center. Vista’s two teams each performed in four rounds of Mock Trial competition. Each round consisted of a 2-3 hour civil trial with an actual District Court Judge in a real courtroom at the Douglas County Justice Center. The scoring was done by a three-person “jury” made up of practicing attorneys, sitting Magistrates and Judges.
Both teams received compliments on their level of commitment, preparation and professionalism. Senior Jackson Ingram received one of the highest honors of being named “Best Attorney”, a title given to only two of the 50 people competing.
