Wednesday, Nov. 12 was early signing day for collegiate sports. Vista boasted 11 student athletes signing in six different sports to 10 different colleges. “It felt awesome to sign and it was a lot of fun,” Mountain Vista senior Ray Beresford said who signed with Western State University for basketball. “Ever since I can remember I’ve wanted to play college basketball.”
Beresford will attend Western State along with fellow teammate Brady Subart. “It was very exciting to see the number of athletes that have made the choice to continue playing their sport at the college level,” athletic director Patrick McCabe said. McCabe says he plans on many more of Vista’s student athletes on National Signing Day in February. “ I cannot possibly guess how many, but it would not surprise me if the total number that sign ends up greater than 30,” McCabe Said.
