Students at Mountain Vista may remember Preston Dumler, eighth grade, who died May 11, 2015 due to a medical condition affecting his heart. Dumler was involved in many sports and always had a smile on his face. Dumler left his mark on many of his classmates. Now his classmates want to honor him. Friends and family of Dumler have created a GoFundMe page to raise money to plant a path of trees near the sporting fields. Dumler’s number on his baseball jersey was 27 and his favorite color was blue, so their plan is to plant 27 Blue Spruce trees. Their goal is to raise $25,000 by April 20. $860 will buy one tree. If they raise more money, they want to create a monument and build a picnic area in honor of Dumler. Here is the link to the GoFundMe page. If you have the means to donate money, please do. If you don’t have the means, spread the word. Dumler was a special student and he deserves to be recognized and remembered.
