In the last year Twitter has become very popular among high school students.  Twitter has become the latest fad on smart phones and students have just absorbed it.

We can see that Facebook activity has declined quite a bit in the past year as Twitter, Instagram, Vine and other social medias have become more and more popular.

Many follow celebrities to keep up on their lives and what they are doing. For example Miley Cyrus tweeted from her @MileyCyrus account: “I love my fans more than anything in the whole wide world.”

Students have started to tweet throughout their days, making posts about what they’re doing, news, athletics, clubs, friends, conflicts, etc.  Youth have become so focused on tweeting funny things to inspiring quotes to every single thing that is happening in their lives a that moment.

“It’s funny how the biggest social media being Facebook has started to use hashtags now just like twitter has, and people have normal conversations on these social medias as if they are talking in person,” said Andrew Walton, 12.

Why has Twitter become so popular recently? Could it just be the next fad that will come and go as most social medias? Or will it stick and keep up its performance and popularity? I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
