Mountain Vista and student leadership hosted the first assembly of the year on Aug. 23. The original date for the first assembly was scheduled for Aug. 16, but was postponed due to a malfunction in the bleachers.
Principal Michael Weaver began the assembly addressing the school on a recent fight that occurred in the school yard. “Make sure you know when things happen around here that we have to take care of each other and take care of ourselves,” Weaver said.
Student Body President Maya Winslow and Vice Student Body President Anna Scott presented codes for each class to receive text message reminders on upcoming school activities.

The varsity baseball team presented the CHSAA 5A Baseball State Championship trophy to Principal Michael Weaver following the text codes presented to each class.
Senior Caden Kroonenberg shared a video to the school that highlighted this year’s theme, “Let’s Get Weird”. The video can be found on this link.
Senior Cody King and other members of MV Unit closed the assembly teaching the school new cheers for the 2018-19 school year such as ‘Bop It’.
