On Tuesday, May 8, the girls varsity soccer team hosted Adams City High School in the first round of the CHSAA 5A State Championship Tournament.
The Golden Eagles did not struggle to score the first goal of the game. In the second minute of the match, senior Katy Harris scored from inside the penalty box to put Vista up, 1-0. After the Harris’s goal, Vista would rack up seven more goals to end the first half; three which were scored by sophomore Shaye Jones.
After halftime, Vista would score two more goals, mercy ruling Adams City, 10-0.
The Golden Eagles will host Arapahoe this Friday at 4:15p.m. at Shea Stadium in the second round of playoffs.
