2017 National College Football Championship Highlights

Just like last year, Alabama Crimson Tide and the Clemson Tigers faced off during the 2017 National College Football Championship.

Early in the first quarter, Alabama running back Bo Scarbrough ran 25 yards for the first touchdown of the game.

Later in the first quarter, Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson fumbled the ball, which left Alabama on Clemson’s 35-yard line.

During the second quarter, Scarbrough made a 37 yard run to score Alabama’s second touchdown of the night.

After an 87 yard drive, Watson made a 8 yard run to score Clemson’s first touchdown of the night.

At halftime, Clemson trailed Alabama 14-7.

During the second half, Clemson started looking up; Watson connected 11 out of 15 passes and passed two touchdowns to Hunter Renfrow and Mike Williams.

Clemson then fumbled the ball on their first possession of the third quarter, which put Alabama at the Tiger’s 16-yard line.

 With 4:38 left in the fourth quarter, Clemson took the lead for the first time during the game.  Clemson running back Wayne Gallman had a one-yard score which took the game’s score to to 28-24 Clemson.

Alabama then scored one more time and were able to take back their lead.  Alabama quarterback Jalen Hurts ran the ball 30 yards for a touchdown with 2:07 left on the clock.

 With six seconds remaining, Deshaun Watson made a 2 yard pass to Hunter Renfrow who scored the game-winning touchdown.

Clemson won the 2017 College Football National Championship 35-31 against Alabama Crimson Tide.
