Shannon Vane, an English teacher at Mountain Vista (MV) strives to pass along the experience she had in high school.
“I loved being in high school myself and I had a great experience. I never wanted it to end, so this is an extension,” Vance said. “I really love kids, that’s why I coach Speech and Debate.”
With views much like Vance, Meg Blaze, another English teacher here at MV, she sticks out because of her passion behind her work.
“[Teaching] is never boring because my life and my job have meaning,” Blaze said. “There are hard parts, but every job has hard parts.”
Each year, Oct. 5 marks an often overlooked holiday. First celebrated in 1994, World Teachers’ Day is an occasion to celebrate teachers who influence students for future generations.
