The Mountain Vista Men’s ice hockey team kicked off their season on December 4. The team is off to a good start with a 3-1 record.
Vista has recorded an astonishing 25 goals for and has only allowed eight goals against. Vista’s only loss so far came in the third game of the season against last year’s state runner up Monarch. Vista lost to Monarch in the state quarterfinals last year.
Vista put on an impressive offensive display at their last game against Castle View, winning 14-0. The team hopes to carry this recently found momentum into their games this weekend. Vista plays Liberty on Friday and Valor on Saturday. Their game is at 8:40 p.m. at The Ice Ranch.
Junior Kaden Stewart leads the team with 10 points. “We still haven’t come out of the gates yet,” Stewart said, “this weekend we will really get our solid game going.”
