Golden Eagles men’s soccer prepares for their first playoff game tonight against Monarch High School. The game is at Monarch at 4 p.m.
“We’re the number 28 seed [out of 32], and we’re going up against the fifth seed. We’ve got a tough match-up at first but I feel like we’ll be fine,” said senior Brent Lackey.
The men’s soccer team record at Monarch High School is 8-2 in league, the Golden Eagle’s is 5-5.
“I think we’ll go far because our team is going to get underestimated in playoffs as the 28th seed,” said junior Chase Pacheco. “But we’re a lot better than our record.”
Despite their ranking, the team is confident in their skill and brotherhood.
“I think we’ll do well. At the end of the season we started to come together as a team more,” said senior Matias Grossi. “With that unity and the stronger play we’ve been having we’ll go as far as we can.”
