Cross country swept the league meet this year and had the first place runner in every single race. This is the fourth year in a row that the boys team has swept leagues and the girls team has swept three of the last five league meets.
Vista had 27 of 30 top five spots and open boys had the first 15 runners in the top 15. “They ran beyond our expectations it’s the first time we have won all six team races and all six individual titles,” said coach Jonathan Dalby.
The team worked hard for the title they deserved. “Leagues was awesome. Just seeing the depth is pretty cool. All the teams worked in the race. We came together so well and it paid off,” senior Paxton Smith said.
Mountain Vista is competing in the Regional meet at our neighboring school, Rock Canyon, on Friday, Oct. 3. “I feel pretty confident about our team heading into regionals hopefully we will come out of there with both regional titles,” said Dalby.
