KENZIE WINSLOW
The volleyball girls, who are ranked first in league, head into their match against Rock Canyon on Oct. 22. Their current record is 7-1, with their only loss being to third ranked Chaparral.
There are two regular season games left; happening on Oct. 22 and Oct. 27. The Oct. 27 game is against Heritage High School.
As the girls round out the season next Tuesday at home, they will celebrate the five seniors on the team with the traditional senior night. At the conclusion of their game against Heritage, the girls will know if they are on track to State.
Being in first gives them a perfect stance right now, but how they fair in the last two games will dictate where they stand going into State. Regardless, the girl’s effort this season has showed and this can be partly due to their relationships on and off the court. You can tell they are family and this will help them advance far in State standings.
“We all have such a good relationship with each other and that hasn’t really happened before,” senior Olivia Penna said. This can be seen in the comradery and ease with which the girls play on the court.
