KIT MILLER & PEYTON REEVES
Track and Field is off and running. The athletes participating are training and working harder than ever to uphold the school’s legacy as a strong competitor. The athletes meet everyday after school to practice for a minimum of two hours, but many stay longer afterwards.
They have already ran in numerous meets and the team is proving to be fast and strong. Last week at the Pomona Invitational meet, which lasted two days, Mountain Vista took fifth place out of 32 school with a total of 49.5 points.
The rest of their season looks promising and the team has much to look forward to. The next meet is the JV meet April 15, at Mountain Vista against Heritage. Junior Jason Trichler is participating in tonight’s meet. “I’m looking forward to competing in the Triple Jump,” Trichler said. Sophomore Josh Bryant who is also competing said, “I want to break my personal record tonight.”
