EE: What do you plan to do after high school?
CR: I want to go to Boston University to become a pediatrician.
EE: What got you interested in band?
CR: When I was in fourth grade, my neighbor played the flute and I wanted to do it. When fifth grade came around, my school had a position open and I did it.
EE: Why do you not play the flute anymore?
CR: There were no oboes in symphony band so I said that I would play it.
EE: What do you think of it?
CR: I love it. It is my favorite out of the four instruments I have played.
EE: What other two instruments have you played?
CR: The saxaphone and the clarinet.
EE: What are your goals for band?
CR: I want to be drum major.
EE: What made you want to become a pediatrician?
CR: I used to get sick a lot when I was young and I always had to go see awful doctors. Kids shouldn’t have to have horrible doctors and I absolutely love kids.
EE: What have you done so far to prepare for being a pediatrician?
CR: I’ve mostly been looking into good colleges.
EE: What would you do that would be different from the doctors you had as a kid?
CR: I wouldn’t talk to the parent, I would talk to the kid. The kid knows how they are feeling and I would connect with them one on one.
EE: What would you like to do for band in college?
CR: I want to take band classes and be involved in the band. I don’t want to major or minor in it though.
EE: What is your goal as a pediatrician?
CR: I want to have my own firm. I don’t want to work under someone and all of my family has a business of their own.
