On Friday, Sept. 5, Mountain Vista’s Cross Country team traveled to New Mexico to compete in the New Mexico Lobos Cross Country meet. This was Vista’s first time competing in this meet. “It was just a fun meet and a cool experience to get to travel somewhere new as a team. We also got to experience some Albuquerque culture which was new and cool as well,” senior Kenzie Haberkorn said. The men’s team had an impressive weekend finishing first. On the other hand, the girls team was “underwhelmed” with their results and believed they could have performed better. “I would say the meet didn’t go as well for the girls as maybe we would’ve liked, but the boys team got first, like they usually do,” Haberkorn added.
