Various signs around the school saying only “9-24-13” have left students wondering what the date means. These signs are to let students know about the annual dodgeball tournament Tuesday, Sept. 24. The dodgeball tournament is part of homecoming week starting on Monday, Sept. 23.
Monday is Millionaire Monday with Pod Decorating starting at 3 p.m. Each class has the following pods to decorate:
Freshman- L500
Sophomores- L400
Juniors- U400
Seniors- U300
Tuesday is Colorado Day with the chili dinner at 6 p.m.in the commons. Dodgeball will be in the gym at 7 p.m.
Wednesday is Jersey Day. Powder Puff is at 5:30 p.m. at Shea Stadium in the east parking lot, followed by the bonfire and fireworks at the Mountain Vista football field at 8 p.m.
Thursday is Spirit Day. Dress in green and gold to earn points for the class competition. Taste of Vista will also be held during both lunches. The football game against Douglas County High School will be at Shea Stadium at 7 p.m. A tailgate will occur before the game at Shea from 4:30 to 6 p.m. There will be a live concert at the tailgate.
The dance will be held on Friday from 8 to 11 p.m. The theme this year is Bright Nights City Lights. Tickets are now being sold for $20 or can be bought at the door for $25.
