Spring is in the air around Mountain Vista, bringing high temperatures and high speeds with it. By this, I mean that the Track season is now in full swing for Vista Athletes.
With 140 members spread into distance, sprinting, throwing, or jumping categories, the team is stacked in all areas to perform well. Recent successes at home on the 8th and at Douglas County have only confirm that, as well as build confidence. Even though the meets were more of an indicator for the later placement in other competitions, all competitors still proved themselves incredibly capable in their fields.
With meets almost every week, there will always be an opportunity to see the team in action and cheer them on. Varsity meets will be large meets across the state, but JV will always be within the district and in need of support.
Track may not be everyone’s favorite sport, and even the athletes themselves can get fed up with the long waits. However, with a team that is strong and wants to win, as well as a supportive school, this team is poised to make this season one to remember.
