Wish Week has returned to Vista, and 2025’s Wish Week preparations are underway. The preparations for the week started in October to brainstorm new ideas and events and create the assembly to help Carter’s wish come true.
“We start discussing Wish Week as early as October! That’s when we introduce fundraising efforts and begin brainstorming ideas. From there, the pieces start coming together—deciding on themes, planning events, and, most importantly, getting to know the Wish Kid and their story,” said student body President Tevia Reading, ‘25.
Student Leadership spends hours planning the week out for the Wish Kid and the events for the entire school. Their work continued until this weekend, when students will return to school to discover the transformation of the hallways.
This transformation will lead to a fun and exciting week for MVHS and help bring the community together to make a wish come true.
Wish Week will help bring the community together and help focus on a common goal throughout the week.
“Community. I want the school to unite, put aside all other issues and be grateful for our community. I want Vista to feel like one, just happiness and kindness flooding the building. The message of Be A Good Person should carry on throughout the week,” Laney Erikson ‘25 stated.
What is your message about Wish Week, and what memories will you remember after your time at Vista?
Tevia Reading ‘25 – “Wish Week will forever be my favourite week of school; being in leadership for the past 4 years has been amazing. I am so grateful to have made so many amazing memories. From early mornings to late nights, I have loved it all. I am so excited to see the future of MVHS and the amazing things we continue to do. Vista will always be my home and a place key to my childhood. I’m so thankful for Vista and creating a special time for Make-A-Wish families across the state.”
What is the most fun part of Wish Week?
Laney Erikson ‘25 – “The week is so much fun filled with all the dress up days and events creating such a fun week. But decorating for hours prior to the week is my favorite, connecting with the rest of the leadership class being delulu at 12pm on Saturday crying, laughing and working hard. It is a lot of work but it is so rewarding when it’s all done. The dance parties and cheers when it’s done is just pure happiness from everyone and I get to do it with my best friends.”
