PHOTOS: Girl’s Swim and Dive State Competition

On Thursday Feb. 13, and Friday Feb. 14, Mountain Vista’s Swim and Dive team traveled to the Veterans Memorial Aquatic Center (VMAC) in Thornton to participate in the Swim and Dive State Competition. Over two days, the team competed against other swimmers from all over Colorado.
“[The season] felt really good,” senior Annie Osmun said. “Overall, we were all really happy, and we were all just so proud of each other.”
It was the strong bond and relationships they all had with one another that got them through the season.
“[This season] was very successful from a bonding standpoint,” senior Brooke Ford said. “We got a lot closer than we ever had been before.”
The team finished ninth in the state and placed in the following races:
200 Medley Relay (S. Capp, J. Capp, Beck, Long) Ninth Place
200 Free Relay (Long, J. Capp, Ford, Osmun) Sixth Place
400 Free Relay ( S. Capp, Hendren, Ford, Osmun) Eighth Place
2oo Freestyle (Brooke Ford) 12 Place
200 Individual Medley (Sophia Capp) Fifth Place
50 Freestyle (Annie Osmun) 1o Place
100 Freestyle (Annie Osmun) 10 Place
500 Freestyle (Brooke Ford) Fifth Place
100 Backstroke (Sophia Capp) Seventh Place
