Homecoming Recap: Tuesday

//Soren Brockway and Hannah Corbet-Thiele//

Homecoming week is always the best time to show your school spirit by showing up to support every activity you can. Tuesday was a prime day to support your Mountain Vista sports including Volleyball, Golf and Soccer.

While everyone was in class, varsity men’s golf drove past Parker  to play against multiple high schools including: Regis, ThunderRidge, Legend, Highlands Ranch, Cherry Creek, Rock Canyon and Douglas County. Each golfer played at Spring Valley Golf Course, all determined to do their best.

The night started off at our soccer fields for varsity boy’s soccer, the opposing team; Chaparral High School, was determined to win. Our Vista players were too stubborn to let the win slip through their fingers. They won the game, 5-1.

“I think we need to keep our heads up and stay intense, don’t let off the gas pedal,” Junior Tyler Daugherty said.

As the first half of the night wrapped up as a win for our golden eagles, the night had only begun for volleyball. As everyone moved into the main gym to back our varsity women’s volleyball team, the team ready to play our biggest rival, hungry for a win. Mountain Vista varsity volleyball pulled out a win in a four match game, winning 3-1. With all of your classmates watching you play a well known rival, the pressure builds.

“I think it’s super fun, just because everyone comes down and you get to see all your friends support you and cheer you on,” Senior Lexie Zemann said. “It’s a lot different because they usually can’t make it out to a lot of our games.”
