WISH WEEK 2019: DAY FOUR RECAP

The fourth day of Wish Week started after a 90-minute weather delay from the Douglas County School District. Student Leadership (StudLe) hosted a Wish Rally for the entire student body in the commons during SOAR. Students were were provided food, games, and students also signed cards to send to Chad.

“[Chad] is such a strong kid and he inspires me, and I know when I am going through tough times, he is going through tougher times,” freshman Brooke Auth said.

Students also sported sported togas around the school, a new dress up theme the school hasn’t seen before.

“This is my first Wish Week at Vista,” freshman Connor Brooks said. “My older brother has inspired me to get involved in Wish Week.”

Costa Vida also sponsored the week, many students went to eat before watching the wrestling matches.

“The food was really good,” junior Marlee Burkett said. “I loved spending time with friends and being able to support Wish Week at the same time.”

Later that night, students filled the bleachers in the gym to watch the Golden Eagle wrestling team take on Fairview High School.

“I thought it was cool how a lot of people showed up and usually that doesn’t happen here.” sophomore Adam Holton said.

“It was fun to have a crowd cheering me on for once,” junior Adin Weaver said.

Holton, Weaver, and the wrestling team were able to take down the Knights, 49-24.
