The second day of homecoming week featured two big events for the school: Vista’s dodgeball tournament and the varsity mens soccer team’s homecoming game.
Varsity soccer hosted Douglas County High School at Shea Stadium. The team looked to win their first game of the season. Junior Dante Amicarella scored first for the Golden Eagles, giving Vista a 1-0 lead in the first half.
Vista widened their lead in the second half with goals from senior Corban Gamble and freshman Kyle Atkinson. The Huskies were able to score once in the second half, but they could not comeback. Vista won their first game of the season, 3-1.
While varsity soccer played the Huskies, students gathered at Vista for the first dodgeball tournament of the year. There were around nine teams for each class that participated in the double elimination tournament. The sophomore team, The Grease Ballers, won the tournament.
