Mountain Vista cross country ran at the St. Vrain Invitational Meet at Lyon’s High School on Saturday. This was a special race for the veteran varsity members, as it was their first race back from their summer hiatus.
“Our team as a whole really packed together,” said senior Chris Lovejoy. “We went out there and got it done.”
Cross country members generally had the same consensus, but also had some words about the course. “It was brutal,” said junior Parker Mackay. “It was long, hot and muddy.”
The majority of the veteran varsity members are going to Irvine, Calif. to race in the Woodbridge Invitational meet, a big one in the season. “Everybody is really excited,” said junior Shayan Zarrin. “They can’t wait.”
