March 15 was the first lacrosse game for the Golden Eagles and the first game since the death of head coach Jake Herman. The Golden Eagles took the lead early in the first half leading the Mustangs, 2-0.
After a quick goal from Mullen, junior Colin Munro scored his third goal of the game giving Vista the lead, 3-1.
Within the last six minutes of the half Mullen scored twice tying the game, 3-3. Vista rallied with 40 seconds left in the half to take the lead going into halftime with a 4-3 lead.
Within the next quarter and a half Vista scored four more goals giving them the lead, 8-3. Mullen responds with scoring three more goals in the last five minutes of the. Vista was able to hold on and beat the Mullen Mustangs, 8-6.
The next varsity boy’s lacrosse game will be March 29, against Pine Creek High School at Shea Stadium.
