To kick off the football season, the Denver Broncos are hosting a 7K marathon at Sports Authority Field this weekend.
Sophomore Dan Speedy is running the 7K with his sister, Juliana. “My sister ran the Colfax marathon and the Broncos 7K was on the same website,” Speedy said. “It looked fun so we decided to run it.”
The run is a four and a half mile long trek in the part of the city near the stadium and ends on the 50-yard-line of the field. “I am most excited for this run because we get to run through the stadium, which I have never done before,” Speedy said.
In order to prepare for the 7K, Speedy has been running distance in increasing increments since the beginning of August.
Speedy hopes the Broncos do well this year. “I am excited for the kickoff of this season because I enjoy watching the Broncos and this might be Peyton Manning’s last year,” he said.
