Mountain Vista’s Men’s Ice Hockey team is off to an impressive start this season. With wins over Lewis Palmer High School, Palmer High School, Chatfield, Liberty and Coronado, Vista boasts a 5-0-1 record. Vista has been victorious in every game except against No. 4 Monarch who they tied 4-4 in overtime.
The team has had impressive offensive production thus far, scoring an average of 7.2 goals per game. “Last year we relied more on our defense than offense and I think this year we are stronger offensively,” sophomore defenseman Kaden Stewart said.
Vista’s defensive success is just as remarkable as their offense. The team has recorded two shutouts and have only allowed eight goals in six games.
Vista is currently ranked No. 5 in the state behind Ralston Valley, Regis, Cherry Creek and Monarch.
“We are still coming together as a team but I think in the end it will all work out,” Stewart said.
