Unified basketball is based on community and bonding with different people. It helps to form relationships and connections between the team.
“I really do like helping because it makes me feel good and I think it is just developing a relationship. It really makes the experience better,” sophomore Griffin Barnard said.
The team came up short against Southridge Rec Center, but played well and had fun anyways.
“I like to play basketball and I like scoring a lot,” junior player Casey Marrinson said.
The team is looking forward to a great season coming off a win against Arapahoe with games still lined up against Highlands Ranch, Rock Canyon and ThunderRidge.
“The best part of the game is seeing all the kids really happy,” Barnard said, “and I really enjoy being able to help.”
